WELCOME
The Asian Pacific Association of Gastroenterology (APAGE) is pleased to present our second monothematic meeting on Helicobacter pylori infection with the theme “Translating Science into Clinical Medicine: H.pylori infection in Asia-Pacific. This meeting is organised in collaboration with the Malaysian Society of Gastroenterology and Hepatology (MSGH) who themselves have a proud history of organising high quality scientific meetings over the years.
The purpose of this meeting is to review in depth various issues involving H.pylori infection from the Asian-Pacific perspective. To this end, we have invited top faculty from throughout the region as well as several key international authorities in the field. In addition to scientific lectures, we will also be organising two special workshops: an endoscopy based workshop with short tutorials with videoclips presentations on the diagnosis of early gastric cancer utilizing image enhanced techniques as well as video demonstrations of endoscopic mucosal resection and endoscopy submucosal dissection of such lesions and a second workshop on microbiology, immunology and molecular genetics of H.pylori infection. We have also organised a special focused session on strategies to deal with gastric cancer, still a major health issue in the Asian Pacific region.
For all researchers in the region we invite you to submit high quality scientific poster presentations. The abstracts of these posters will be published as a supplement in the Journal of Gastroenterology and Hepatology and a poster review round will also be held during the meeting.
We feel this event will be a very high impact meeting which will be useful for busy practicing clinicians as well as researchers and scientists in the field. We look forward to welcoming all of you to Kuala Lumpur in January 2012.
